Readers looking for their next book have a new selection of criticism to browse. Book Marks has gathered five reviews covering works by Jane Schoenbrun, Yiyun Li, Deborah Lutz, Sarah Anderson and Nathaniel Philbrick. The choices range across fiction, biography and history, with reviews drawn from publications including The Guardian and The New York Times. Among the subjects are Emily Brontë’s life, the California Gold Rush and the relationship between art and experience. The roundup was published October 29. It offers several critical perspectives for readers to consider; it does not mean that all five books were published today.
